NEW YORK – Today is the day many runners have been waiting for, the day they will find out if they have been selected for the 2023 New York City Marathon.
The New York Road Runners have revealed key dates for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon in January, with the big event scheduled for November 5. But Wednesday, March 1 is when they raffle off tickets to take part in the event.
New York Road Runners (NYRR) notes that if runners do not receive an entry through the lottery, they can still apply here.
The TCS New York City Marathon is one of the city’s most iconic sporting events, attracting runners and spectators of all backgrounds, ages and abilities from around the world. Last year the marathon made its triumphant return to full capacity with nearly 50,000 runners after a pandemic hiatus.

The registration process for the 2023 New York City Marathon, which began last month, has not been easy, with many encountering technical issues.
In a series of tweets starting on February 8, the TCS New York City Marathon, the organization behind the famous sporting event, admitted that its team was aware of the problems that occurred during the first day of the ticket draw due to of high demand.
“Our teams are currently aware of the issues affecting the entry process,” the TCS New York City Marathon tweeted on February 8. “The draw and claim period is not on a first-come, first-served basis and is open until February 22. Please try again later today as our goal is to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
A few hours later, the organization continued to experience delays due to high demand and again clarified that the application period was NOT “first come, first served” but open during both following weeks. in which interested parties could apply or claim their registration.
The following day, the TCS New York Marathon further explained its application process, in a series of tweets saying that applications will be processed within 48 hours and that those who entered the draw, which will take place on March 1 , they should not attempt to re-enter. Once processed, your rider’s dashboard should reflect the race in the “Upcoming Events” section and a confirmation email will also be sent.
Additionally, runners who do not earn entry via the non-NYRR time qualification method were automatically moved into the draw.
