Several residents of an area of the city of Claremont are facing a real problem, because of their homes there have been several water leaks in recent days.
In one house, there are more than a dozen pipes that for more than 72 hours have been trying to pump the water that has accumulated underground, and yet the problem persists.
“I thought we had a water leak in our house, we tested everything and found nothing, and the patio leak started a few days ago and hasn’t stopped, we don’t know what’s really going on,” said Víctor Asomora, a concerned landlord.
What started as a mysterious water leak turned into a flood on Wednesday evening.
“The situation is that the water is coming from the San Antonio dam and filling the springs that are under the houses and now we see that the patios of the houses are flooded,” explained David Ner, another concerned owner. “Apparently the city doesn’t know where the water is coming from, but surely it’s coming from the San Antonio dam, that’s because they’re letting the water out due to the amount of liquid coming down from the snow-capped mountains.”
Homes and streets were hit by flash floods.
For some residents like Ken Larsen, the situation has turned into a real nightmare, since so far no city employee has shown up and the damage to their property is starting to be worrying.
“It’s very frustrating, we’ve been left in the dark, they knew about this situation for two weeks, we didn’t know until it happened and now we don’t know what we’re going to do” , Larsen said.
