Disney throws the house out the window with live action! Hollywood’s most famous studios have been making true versions of their classics ever since they released The Cinderella in 2015, becoming his golden goose. Well, rather one of them.
And who was the last to announce that there will be live action? Well, nothing more and nothing less than Moana (Moana in English). The famous film about a young woman who wants to explore the sea will be the next adaptation that Disney plans to bring to the cinema. A decision that caught the attention of fans. And it is that the film is a recent classic, being only six years old.
The decision of the actors
But the short time between the animated film and its live-action adaptation allowed Disney to do something it hadn’t done until now: repeat actors from the original.
So, Moana will be Auli’i Cravalho and the god Maui will be Dwayne Johnson. The same actress and actor who gave voice and personality to the animated versions. A very wise decision, especially since the animators were inspired by them for the original characters.

Moreover, Auli’i Cravalho is only 22 years old: an age close to that of the protagonist of the animated film, who is 18 years old.
It was Dwayne Johnson himself who announced the news through an official Disney video. The actor, accompanied by his daughters, announced that he would take over the magic hook from Maui. Also that the project is very little advanced. Moreover, he announced that the film will be a musical and that it will serve to connect with these islands of the Pacific.
“I’m very happy to announce that Moana is in development. Moana, Music, Dance, Pig, City, Ocean, and Chicken will be back. Of course, Maui too,” Johnson says in the video. .
We’ll have to wait to find out when Disney plans to release this movie, but we’ll have to wait. So a lot of patience.
