The deputy and current vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, announced on Tuesday that the broadcast of his program ‘With the mazo giving’, which is broadcast on state media every Wednesday, will be suspended for “the appearance of covid-19”.
Diosdado Cabello made this known on Twitter and explained that the decision was made “after evaluating” the issue and after the death of a member of the program’s team. He did not specify whether it will air next week.
Diosdado Cabello revealed in July last year that he tested positive for coronavirus.
The latest report from the Venezuelan government included 608 new coronavirus infections and 9,166 patients with the active virus. In the case of deaths linked to covid-19, another 9 were reported and a total of 1,492 have accumulated since the pandemic began.
