A Cuban was arrested on Monday, April 5 in Miami Beach and is being accused of attempting to use an electric saw to try to steal a bicycle in a parking lot in the South Beach neighborhood.

According to the local media America TeVé, the man, identified as Josue Álvarez, 48, was detained by Miami Beach police after it coincided with a photo provided by a witness.

The aforementioned media shared a video in which the man can be seen while allegedly trying to commit the crime in the middle of an empty parking lot.

The recording shows Álvarez putting away his things and quickly fleeing the place after being discovered and questioned by the woman.

According to the report, the man may have tried to cut the bicycle chain with the electric saw when he was discovered red-handed by the woman.

The woman found Álvarez’s behavior suspicious, as he runs out of the parking lot while trying to cover his face, which is why he uploaded the video to social networks.

The detainee appeared in court on April 6 in front of Judge Mindy S. Glazer, who imposed a bond of $ 6,500.

According to the authorities, Álvarez denied all the events that occurred at 301 Michigan Avenue at the time of his arrest.

However, after being transferred to the Miami Beach police station, the Cuban made a full confession.

The local media indicated that Álvarez is now in the county jail, where he faces charges for robbery of an inhabited property, attempted robbery and criminal conduct.

Cubans arrested in Miami

At the beginning of the month, it was learned of the case of a Cuban who was arrested in Miami for using a laser with which he pointed to the cabins of the planes leaving the International Airport.

According to the police report, the Cuban, identified as Rolando Yague, 61, had been doing this for more than a year with the intention of distracting the pilots.

After an investigation, the man was discovered a mile and a half on the east side of the airport, where he was arrested for endangering the safety of flights arriving at the place.

Similarly at the end of March the police detained a Cuban babalawo, identified as Adonis Puebla, for allegedly threatening other priests with death.

According to local media, Puebla, 46, posted a video on social media in which he threatened two possible victims.

The Cuban later deleted the videos, but those affected were able to record them and use them as evidence, as they feared for their lives and that of their families.
