Forrest Hill Blvd and Georgia Ave are one of the places in the city of West Palm Beach where young people at night close the streets and drive recklessly. The tire marks on the asphalt are proof of that.
Described by police as reckless and dangerous driving, in the southern part of the city, residents have been hiding in their homes and reporting their concerns to authorities.
Those who live a few meters from where we see different cars turning violently with dozens of young people around recording with their phones.
His wish is to see more patrols in the area at night, and his concern has been shared with police who have met with neighbours.
West Palm Beach Police Captain Brian Kapper said: ‘You have to stop doing this, obviously people are getting hurt and people have been killed, especially in South Florida. Some people are already dead and we don’t want that in the city of West Palm Beach.”
The West Palm Beach Police Captain said that at night they have a limited number of officers on the streets, which delays response time. He also reported that the police have no right to prosecute such drivers, but have pledged to place more surveillance cameras and license plate readers throughout the city.
West Palm Beach police said they are focused on finding out when these groups take to the streets again and said they will respond with more police patrols.
