A woman attempted to kidnap a driver in the parking lot of an Agoura Hills grocery store, where she ended up ramming into several cars, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Cellphone video shows the chaos unfolding Friday afternoon at the Kanan Road store. A woman in the car can be heard calling for help as the car rapidly backs up.
Detectives said a 27-year-old woman attempted to steal the victim’s purse. While removing the bag, the victim was also pulled from the car.
Vehicle camera video shows what appears to be a road rage confrontation on a highway northeast of Los Angeles.
That’s when deputies say the would-be car thief got in and tried to leave, but couldn’t because of a device believed to be some kind of stalk in the steering wheel.
“It was bouncing like a ping-pong ball off the other cars,” witness Joslyn Palmer said. “She tried to get out of the vehicle. When he did, he came out here and slipped.”
That’s when Palmer and two men jumped on her, she said.
Two people were injured and treated at the scene.
The woman was arrested and taken to hospital. Details of his injuries were not immediately available.
