Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit are asking for the community’s help in locating a person involved in a violent anti-Semitic incident that occurred Tuesday, Feb. 7, in Dania Beach.
Investigators say the crime happened around 5.30pm near the 2400 block of Stirling Road, where the alleged victim was riding a bike and talking on the phone in Hebrew when an unknown subject hurled an anti-Semitic slur at him just before the attacking.
Surveillance video recovered by authorities shows that during the incident, the alleged assailant is a man punching the victim in the face. The attacker wore a yellow beanie and wore an open black and white checked shirt with another blue shirt underneath and black pants.
The violent blow knocked the victim off the bicycle and once on the ground, the assailant approached her, but she managed to get up. Seconds later, the subject walked away, but not before getting into a verbal altercation with several workers in the area who witnessed the assault.
Detectives say the victim suffered multiple injuries from the attack, for which he had to be hospitalized.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the subject’s identity or whereabouts to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Detective Lacey Fitzpatrick at 954-321-4200.
