NEW YORK — This is a moment of pride and rejoicing for more than 160,000 Dominicans in Brooklyn County that some of Quisqueya’s sons have been waiting for decades.
This Friday, a service office of the Dominican consulate was officially installed to serve this county.
“It’s a pride to be able to know that as the borough president of Brooklyn, a Dominican representative, to be able to tell Dominicans what services are available locally (and) that they don’t have to leave this county to seek information (and) resources,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
The office is located in the East New York neighborhood at 2981 Fulton Street, where the Dominican Consulate will provide assistance with procedures such as affidavits, Dominican citizenship, passports, translations and deeds.
Services will be available at the new location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
