What a Friday with the flavors of Monday, because luckily it’s Friday, if it was Monday for real, this news would be a kick in the groin, the kind of not moving for a few tense minutes. But yeah, the truth is the day couldn’t have started worse than with the news that ‘Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King,’ the movie that brought Asta and company’s anime back after a long hiatus, has suffered a pretty noticeable delay..
Black Clover Animated Film Swallows A Rather Painful Delay
So I leave you with everything details of how much ANN collected on the news already confirmed:
- Indeed, it has been confirmed that Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, the animated film, will no longer open on March 31 as planned, neither in Japanese theaters nor via Netflix. The delay is total and global.
- The only “positive” thing in all of this is that at least one new date for the release of the movie Black Clover has been confirmed: June 16, 2023. This new release date (still) applies to both theaters in Japan and to streaming on Netflix, the latter being simultaneous worldwide.
- The reason that forced this delay in the film is none other than the COVID-19. This is how Black Clover already becomes ‘just one more‘anime more and more affected by this second wave of delays in industry, which has a strong impact in China in particular.
- No further delays are initially planned for Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, since the delay is purely derived from COVID-19 and not from any type of natural production setback.
Well, nothing friends, fortunately the weekend is catching up with us to cheer us up because the news has fallen. We can only hope that everyone affected by COVID-19 working on the animated film “Black Clover” can recover without major complications. If anyone wants to make a positive reading, At least it will give Yuki Tabata even more room to continue working on the final phase of the manga, the one that we will obviously see sooner or later in anime form as well..
