Orlando Florida. – A bill in the Florida House of Representatives would ban the use of pronouns in schools in the state.
HB 1223 would establish a policy in schools to establish that “a person’s gender is an immutable biological trait and that it is wrong to assign a person a pronoun that does not match their gender.”
The bill would prohibit an employee, public education contractor, student and any other education personnel from calling a person by the pronoun they identify with if it does not match his biological sex.
Neither would any of the above people be allowed to ask a student what pronoun they wish to be identified by.
Charter schools would also be regulated under the same law.
If approved, it will come into force on July 1, 2023.
