Amazon announced the creation of 400 new jobs in South Florida as part of the growth of its logistics infrastructure in the face of growth in Internet sales.

To that end, Amazon will create 4 delivery stations that will drive the so-called last mile of the ordering process. Specifically, the facilities will be located in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Each of Amazon’s new delivery stations, including the new delivery stations in South Florida, are now designed to meet the needs of electric delivery vehicles, in an effort by the company to join the technology conversion.

The delivery stations also offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own business by delivering packages from Amazon, as well as independent contractors the flexibility to be their own boss and create their own delivery schedule for Amazon Flex.

According to the directors of the company created by Jeff Bezos, “Amazon is a great place to work with highly competitive salaries, day one benefits, and in-demand job training programs.”

“We are excited to continue our investment in Florida with new delivery stations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties that will create hundreds of new job opportunities and provide faster and more efficient delivery to customers,” Owen Torres, a spokesperson for Amazon, said in a statement.

“We look forward to continuing our growth in South Florida and we want to thank state and local leaders for their support in making these projects possible,” added Torres.

In each of the new 400 jobs, the salary will be higher than the minimum of $15 an hour.
