NEW YORK — NYPD officers rushed to the aid of a 7-year-old girl who was allegedly stabbed to death by her grandmother in the Bronx on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at a residence located at the corner of East 169th Street and Clinton Avenue.
Responding officers helped the girl once at the scene, after she was found unconscious and stabbed. The 7-year-old girl had injuries to her torso, neck and chest, according to New York police.
The girl was seriously injured, but stable, according to the police. The girl lives in New Jersey and was visiting her grandmother.
The alleged grandmother was taken into custody at the scene and is in an area hospital for evaluation.
