Three earthquakes struck Southern California in about half an hour Monday morning, centered around the unincorporated Lennox area.

No damage was immediately reported.

The largest, an acute magnitude 4.0, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), was at 4:44 a.m., about a mile east-northeast of Lennox.

“The M4.0 that just happened was under Lennox, CA, near Inglewood. Very deep at 20km so everyone is at least 20km apart. Most people awake in Los Angeles would have felt it. The movement was a push, and probably not on any recorded fault,” earthquake expert Dr. Lucy Jones tweeted. She is founder of the Dr. Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society.

The first quake, now downgraded from 3.3 to 3.0, occurred at 4:15 a.m., centered approximately one mile east-northeast of the Lennox area, and was felt from the South Bay to the Montebello area and the Burbank area, according to the report.

A 2.5 magnitude quake was felt a minute later and centered .62 miles northwest of Lennox.
