The latest announcements broadcast during Nintendo Direct last week somewhat confirm the appearance of a collector’s console in the colors of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.
At the end of last year, a strange Nintendo Switch Oled appeared. He wore a gold medal and a strange but very evocative acronym. Without a doubt, this is a collector’s edition of the Zelda license. Many people were convinced that it was a console bearing the image of the next Zelda, but nothing really validated this rumor.
However, the revelation of the collector’s edition of Zelda: Tear of The Kingdom has just lifted the veil on all the doubts concerning this console.
A Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom console to celebrate the release?
Although Nintendo has not yet announced this console, everything indicates that it will happen. A few weeks ago, this console was considered a mirage or a joke. Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom had not yet been fully revealed and many rumors announced a postponement of the game. nothing allowed to validate the real existence of this console.
Luckily, the latest Nintendo Direct quashed all postponement speculation, much to the delight of fans. But no announcement has been made regarding the console: Nintendo has not formalized the limited edition. However, the decorations present in the joy con and the dock they suggest it will really come out given its similarities to the collector’s edition of the game.
But why hasn’t Nintendo made it official yet? If we look at the customs of Nintendo, this collector’s edition of the console should be announced shortly before the official release of the game. For comparison, the Pokémon Scarlet & Purple Nintendo Switch Limited Edition was announced two months before the game was released. So March seems like a good time for the Tears of the Kingdom version to become official.
This could therefore explain the lack of validation from Nintendo. On the other hand, if the next Nintendo Direct does not contain information on this edition of the console, its existence may be called into question.
The release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom is scheduled for May 12, 2023, so the console should soon be officially announced by Nintendo, if the latter actually exists. Its purchase price could be around €359.99 if we compare this future limited edition with the others. Know Limited edition Nintendo Switch consoles do not contain a gameso to have the complete package, it will probably cost you no less than €429.99.
