A Zelda fan has composed a map of the Sky Island of Tears of the Kingdom following the game’s reveal yesterday.

On March 28, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom received a full 10-minute gameplay walkthrough from series producer Eiji Aonuma. After the demo, a Zelda fan compiled a map of the Sky Island featured in the gameplay video from screenshots taken from the presentation.

I created a sky map thanks to the new trailer (sorry for the quality) from r/tearsofthekingdom

What you can see above is the result of their dedication: a complete overview of the island itself pieced together from what appears to be seven screenshots. The map is adorned with various markers, with what appears to be a shop and several caves scattered around, the last of which has a small mark next to it, in what we can only assume is a mark that the player has completed.

While this is an impressive search, it’s worth remembering that this is simply a sky island in Tears of the Kingdom. We’ve always known there were dozens of individual islands floating above Hyrule, so what we’re looking at here is just a small example of the floating landmasses we can explore in the final game.

Given that, there’s still a lot Nintendo has to show us about the Sky Islands. Perhaps other islands could feature different enemies or shops, or even different types of caves for Link to explore. Nintendo definitely wants Tears of the Kingdom to hold many surprises when it launches, just like Breath of the Wild did in 2017.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom finally releases on May 12. At the end of the game’s reveal yesterday, Nintendo unveiled a special Tears of the Kingdom-themed OLED Switch model, which certainly looks like one of the most impressive custom Switch models around. till date.
