Xbox Game Pass has been in the news again recently, mostly due to feedback from the UK’s Activision Blizzard CMA report, and following that, Descenders No More Robots editor’s Mike Rose took the lead. Blood once again to say how beneficial the service has been for the team.

In short, Rose says he and his team are always pushing to get “every title we release” on Xbox Game Pass these days. The main benefit of doing so is financial security for the developers involved.

In turn, Rose feels that this security “relieves immense pressure” for those creating the game, allowing them to focus on only this rather than whether they can make the money to survive as a business. It’s a valid angle and one that certainly illuminates Game Pass, at least on the developer side.

Of course, the flip side is the durability of the model for Microsoft, but the company has continually reminded us that Xbox Game Pass works for them. It works for us too, given all the great games we can play through the service!
