Game news Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World clarifies release date

Complete remake of Monster World IV, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World once again shows gameplay and takes the opportunity to give a release date in Japan and a launch window for the West.

After being announced last summer, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World now has a specific release date, at least in Japan. Thus, this complete remake of Monster World IV will be available from April 22 in Japan on PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam. For us Westerners, we will have to wait for a wave in the second quarter of 2021 as announced by publisher INN Games and the game will only be released in physical edition on Switch and PS4.

As a reminder, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is therefore a remaster of the 1994 Monster World IV, the sixth episode of the Wonder Boy series, but developed by series creator Ryuichi Nishizawa, along with the original members of the development team like Shinichi Sakamoto in Son, Maki Ōzora in character design and Takanori Kurihara in Creative Management. The game will nevertheless incorporate many new features such as character voices, 2.5D graphics, new animations and cinematics, a remastered soundtrack and the addition of an easy mode.

Finally, Note that the original Monster World IV will be included in the physical editions of the game, directly in the cartridge for the Switch version and via a separate download code for the PS4 version.
