Windjammers, the popular title first released on Neo Geo in 1994, made its comeback in 2017 and 2018 on PlayStation 4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch with an HD version, which was entitled to its small success. In 2021, therefore, the 25-year-old license intends to offer us a sequel edited and developed by Dotemu, the studio behind the excellent Streets of Rage 4. And to celebrate this great moment, Windjammers 2 unveils the arrival of a demo, Steve Miller’s comeback and the launch of an Arcade Mode.

With Windjammers 2, Steve Miller, the particularly dynamic British player, will make his comeback! He will be able to hurt his competitors thanks to his balanced performances: the latter is an agile, fast, and very powerful thrower who knows how to string together counters and make particularly dangerous curved throws. Be careful, however, since Steve Miller has an Achilles heel: the range of his shots is among the weakest in the game’s roster.

Featured in the trailer above, Windjammers 2 will also offer an Arcade Mode which, like fighting games, will allow you to face different competitors managed by artificial intelligence and discover the background of the different characters. Players who perform well will walk away with credits that allow you to recover in the event of a defeat in a Tournament.

Arcade Mode is the ideal starting point for beginners who want to learn about the joys of competitive Frisbee, and adds depth to the universe by giving each character a dedicated ending that celebrates their progression in the league and the domination of its rivals.

Dotemu announces at the same time that the studio is to implement a rollback network code to Windjammers 2 in order to guarantee the best possible online experience. But this is not all! Indeed, to conclude these various announcements in style, we learn that Windjammers 2 is already playable thanks to the launch of a demo published as part of the Steam Game Festival. The latter is available until February 9, so if you want to give it a try, don’t delay.
