The Witcher Remake is being developed by veterans at CD Projekt RED, who have worked on The Witcher 3 in the past, among others. We know who some of the experienced developers are.
It’s been a few months since work on The Witcher Remake was announced, and since then we haven’t learned much new information related to the game. We might have to wait a bit longer for any news. on mechanics, tasks or the world, but there are many indications that we can be sure of the high quality of the game. This is the impression that one can have by looking at the list of some of the developers working on this title..
Veterans working on The Witcher Remake
At the time of the game’s announcement, we only knew that “veteran developers” were working on the game, but their names were unknown until now. Fans of the Witcher game even did some kind of research, but with poor results, as we wrote here. Only now do we know some details.
In a certain thread dedicated to The Witcher on Reddit, a user created a list of people working on the remake of the first installment of the Witcher trilogy, and it turns out that, which includes veterans associated with, among other things, the design of missions in wild hunt. To make sure these are not random names created by anonymous people, I searched various sources, including LinkedIn, and it turns out that the people mentioned are working on the new version. Are here:
- Jacob Rokosz – CEO of Fool’s Theory. In the past, he was responsible for designing quests in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt games.
- dennis zoetebier – Worked on a variety of The Witcher 3 quests, including the start of the Blood Baron plot or “There’s No Place Like Home”, a quest where you could go on a drinking binge with Lambert and Eskel. Additionally, Zoetebier was task design lead on Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, and serves as task design lead on the team behind The Witcher Remake.
- Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz – is also responsible for the design of the mission. In the past, he created, among other things, the common thread between Geral and Triss in The Witcher 3.
- lion of grace – in the third installment of The Witcher, he worked on the models, textures and architecture of the world, among other things. Its portfolio includes interiors such as Banque Vivaldi, Passiflora, Rosemary and Thyme after renovation, and many others.
- Pedro Gelencser – in The Witcher Remake, he is in charge of world design. In the past, he designed levels in The Witcher 3. In addition to CD Projekt RED, he also worked for Crytek, a studio known, among others, for the Crysis series.
- Katarzyna Wladika – In Fool’s Theory, she is the main quest designer. In addition to The Witcher 3, he also worked on a few quests in Cyberpunk 2077, including a certain character’s funeral, which I’d rather not mention so as not to spoil anything. Out of a corny sense of duty, I’ll add that his name was found in the form of an Easter egg about an arena master in Skellige in The Witcher 3.
- Przemyslaw Tarczynski – In addition to working on The Witcher 3, you also handled some of Cyberpunk 2077’s quests. In the case of The Witcher Remake, you’re in the position of open world designer.
Of course, it is logical that in addition to the people mentioned, The Witcher Remake is worked on by many other specialists. The presence of veterans does not necessarily mean that the game will be a success either, but It is good to know that the title is in the hands of experienced developers to whom we owe many of The Witcher 3’s climactic moments.
