Ubisoft: the firm cancels several games, including the new Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell!

Big and bad surprise on the side of Ubisoft: while the firm took stock of its taxation, a journalist took the opportunity to recover valuable information… including the cancellation of several massive projects.

Splinter Cell returns to the shadows

Just yesterday, Ubisoft drew up its tax balance sheet and revealed some totally unexpected new plans: we think in particular of the Avatar Frontiers of Pandora game which, no, will not be released in time to coincide with the film (more information can be found at this address).

On the sidelines of this report, journalist Stephen Tolito, working for the Axios site, also tells us that the Splinter Cell VR game has been canceled altogether. This was entirely dedicated to the virtual reality of Oculus – as its name indicated – and was to offer an original adventure, with even multiplayer on the program. It was announced in 2020.

We reassure you, the Splinter Cell remake is, a priori, still relevant. On the other hand, Ubisoft has thrown in the towel for other projects…

Ghost Recon Frontline switches the weapon to the left (and not only)

The other surprise unveiled by Tolito, it’s the cancellation of Ghost Recon Frontline. This title unveiled last year was to be offered in the form of a fully multiplayer free-to-play. A trailer had already been delivered, as well as a private beta at the end of 2021. It would therefore seem that this battle royale is no longer on the agenda.

Finally, we also learn that two other games, which were still kept secret, received the same treatment. Suffice to say, we weren’t expecting it.

Fortunately, Ubisoft will be able to rely on many other massive projects: we think in particular of Skull & Bones, finally decided to point the tip of its nose, or even Assassin’s Creed Infinity which we talk a lot about without knowing much. There is no doubt that the French firm also has other nuggets to highlight.
