Snoop Dogg’s Chair drew more viewers on Twitch than he had ever done himself.

More and more celebrities are signing up on the Twitch streaming platform: Terry Crews regularly gambles with his son, soccer star Neymar plays Counter-Strike and the actress Sasha Gray now even works as a full-time streamer with almost 800,000 followers.

Rapper Snoop Dogg has also been part of Twitch since mid-2020 and shows his skills in Madden NFL 21 here. Last weekend, however, this didn’t work out quite as well as usual.

Snoop Dogg is freaking out on Twitch

On Sunday, February 28, 2021, the musician was live again to stream his favorite game. The title of the broadcast was “Sit back, Relax and Chill. It’s a vibe in here”. But it shouldn’t last long in the relaxed mood.

Already in his first game Snoop Dogg was played against the wall by his online opponent, already during the first half it was 21-0 for his opponent.

That was too much for Snoop Dogg: He hit his desk a few times, turned off his Xbox and left the room cursing- a typical “ragequit”.

Empty chair inspires the audience

In his anger, the rapper probably forgot to end his live broadcast: The stream continued for over seven hours without anyone being seen.

However, word got around quickly in the Twitch community: When the 49-year-old musician was still there, just 200 people were watching- this roughly corresponds to his regular audience average.

However, when only his empty chair was visible, up to 4,000 people gathered in his chat. They posted memes, listened to the music and waited eagerly to see what would happen when the rapper came back to his computer.

The whole thing was reminiscent of the return of streamer DrDisrespect, with 300,000 people staring at a virtual gas station for hours.

But it didn’t get really exciting anymore: When Snoop Dogg returned after more than seven hours, he only switched off his stream within a few seconds.

However, Snoop Dogg could still be entitled to dearly for his freaking out: Since the streamer played copyrighted music for hours in his absence, he should now be threatened with a ban.

The sound was subsequently deactivated in the recording of the stream. As we reported at the end of 2020, Twitch has been taking rigorous action against streamers who violate the new copyright rules for some time.
