Things have been a little quiet on the Total War Warhammer 3 front lately, shortly after the latest Immortal Empires update. However, the director of the fantasy strategy game has released an update to allay player concerns that development has stalled. As it happens, Total Warhammer players have three content updates planned for this year, with the first currently releasing in April.
In a video posted (but not listed) on the official YouTube channel, Total War: Warhammer 3 game director Rich Aldridge explains that one of the reasons updates have been slow to arrive lately is the change in working hours after the release of Warhammer 3. Explain that after the release, the team focused their efforts on Immortal Empires, which was released several months later.
More developers on the team working on Immortal Empires and patching the base game meant fewer developers could work on post-launch DLC and content updates.
“That’s where we’ve focused all of our efforts over the past year: making sure we have a good foundation for Immortal Empires, but also patching Warhammer 3 and getting it into the state we need to add new content. . said Aldridge.
Now it looks like the Total Warhammer team is moving forward with some additional content. Aldridge says the final touches are currently on the next DLC, which will be available in April. After that, players can expect two more “new experiences”, roughly described in the 2023 calendar for summer and winter.
These will be interspersed with bug fixes and quality of life improvements in response to community feedback, he says.
“I dare say some of this will hopefully be on his wanted list,” Aldridge says. “But I think there will also be some nice surprises there.”
