The Adamant Rail, or Exagryph, is one of the most powerful weapons you can wield in Hades. Its attacks will take some getting used to, especially the reload speed. But with the right perks, skins, and/or upgrades, you can quickly start decimating enemies that get in your way. It’s great to mix and match different combinations, but there are certain builds that stand out among the rest.
If you are looking to improve with Adamant Rail, here are some builds that can help you improve your performance. Due to the random nature of perks, skins, and weapon upgrades, builds will only reference a few key items. Everything else is up to you; no build is too specific to do anything wrong and throw you off course.
10) Demeter: Frost Strike, Killing Freeze and/or Arctic Blast

Adamant Rail’s fast attack speed allows you to stack chills on a target. This will slow them down and allow you to move around them, dodging their attacks. If paired with Killing Freeze, you can quickly deal damage over time. Arctic Blast is the other part of the equation, dealing burst damage to a target reaching ten stacks of Chill. It’s easy to get through enemies as they fight to hit you.
9) Ares: curse of agony, terrible misfortune and/or impending doom
This is an extension of building stacks on an enemy, although you need Dire Misfortune for building stacks to be effective. Adamant Rail’s attack speed will create more Doom stacks for Dire Misfortune, allowing Doom’s ultimate damage to be greatly increased. Combined with Imending Doom, it could easily pierce stronger enemies, especially armored ones.
8) Dionysus: drunken blow and feeling of numbness

Dionysus is one of the best providers of damage over time blessings. The effect starts quickly and it is not difficult for Adamant Rail to quickly build five stacks. You can increase the strength of Drunken Strike through Poms of Power, causing each stack to deal significantly more damage. With Numbing Sensation, you can slow enemies and back up a bit, letting enemies take full damage while you’re safe.
7) Daedalus Update: Fire Burst
Getting more ammo and attacking faster is always good, and Flurry Fire allows Adamant Rail to do both. Increases total ammo count to 18 and increases attack speed. Along with some of the perks above, this can lead to powerful damage over time that can add up quickly. Along with Ares and Demeter’s Boons, he can create powerful damage that enemies will have a hard time responding to.
6) Poseidon: Tempest Strike and Typhon’s Fury

Poseidon’s Tempest Strike allows you to repeatedly knock an enemy back, preventing them from reaching you. It’s perfect for big enemies trying to jump on you or preparing to attack. Typhoon’s Fury is great if you can push them into a wall because you deal more damage. It is possible to take down tough enemies this way, especially on Elysium.
5) Daedalus Update: Delta Chamber
Upgrading Delta Chamber saves you from having to reload, even if you’re stuck with three-hit bursts. There is half a second of downtime, although it doesn’t reduce attack speed at all. In fact, not having to reload allows Zagreus to be more offensive with Adamant Rail. Damage over time effects and even other buffs that deal damage on attack become significantly more powerful.
4) Zeus: Lightning, Double Strike, Static Discharge, and Split Lightning

One of the best harmful buff providers for Adamant Rail is Zeus. Lightning Strike will trigger chain lightning effects, which get stronger with more blessings from Zeus. Double Strike allows lightning to strike a target twice, while Static Discharge inflicts the Shaken state on enemies. Splitting Bolt provides another instance of Lightning Bolt, which can slice through various enemies like butter.
3) Artemis: Support Fire
Unlike other Boons, Support Fire does not need to take one of Boon’s offensive slots. You need one of Artemis’ other perks, like Artemis Aid, before you can access Support Fire. Once you have supporting fire, it’s almost like a second attack stalking enemies. Combined with any of the above blessings (or the Delta Chamber), you’ll shred the health of any enemy you encounter.
2) The way you look

One of the best weapons for a speedrun, it amplifies Zagreus’ damage if he stands within his special’s radius. The damage bonus can be up to 75% which can really damage enemies. This does not take into account other buffs, such as damage-increasing Blessings (i.e. Aphrodite) or weapon buffs like the Delta Chamber. With the right components, you can easily traverse rooms, even doing short chef work.
1) The aspect of Lucifer
Aspect of Lucifer replaces Adamant Rail’s normal attack with a 20-hit laser beam. The attack speed of the laser beam is fast, perfect for blessings from Zeus or fire support from Artemis. This also works very well with the other damage over time bonuses described above. It’s not compatible with the other weapon upgrades listed here, but you won’t need it when your blessings can offset the damage.
