Printed in 3D, this adapter allows the user of the DualSense of the PS5 with one hand, a quite ingenious creation.

Some players may have difficulty using the DualSense controller of the PlayStation 5. This is partly due to its size and weight. Although Sony has not released an equivalent of the Microsoft Adaptive Controller to date, there are plenty of ideas for making it easy for everyone to play PS5 games. Here is a very interesting new creation.

3D printed, this adapter allows user the DualSense of the PS5 with one hand

YouTuber Akaki Kuumeri thought and designed this adapter so that gamers can use the DualSense with one hand. This 3D printed accessory is attached to the left stick. Once placed on a surface, moving the entire controller physically will move the stick. The L1 and L2 buttons are replicated on the right side of the controller.

There is also a second accessory, optional, which offers the inputs of the directional pad. So, aside from the Share button, players should be able to use the entire controller with one hand.

And because the DualSense is symmetrical, Akaki Kuumeri explains that his designs can be reversed to work perfectly on the other side of the controller. All you need to do is mirror the files before you start printing.

A completely ingenious creation

Akaki Kuumeri submitted his accessory for a one-handed controller design contest. You can download the files and print the props for your personal use if you need them.

This adapter can also be very useful for players who do not necessarily have problems using the DualSense controller with both hands. In a video, Akaki Kuumeri demonstrates part of It Takes Two, a cooperation-only video game, solo using its adapters on two controllers.

The accessory could also give players a way to snack or drink something without having to pause their game.

The Akaki Kuumeri will not solve all the accessibility issues that gamers may suffer from. Some people could for example very quickly tire of moving the controller in this way or simply not have the dexterity necessary to access the four buttons with one hand.

Still, this adapter could allow more players to enjoy titles like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart or Returnal, as long as they have access to a 3D printer and have a PS5, of course.
