The Second Tiberium War, an indie fan project created based on Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, has received a new version that features new story campaign chapters.
A new version of the fan projectThe Second Tiberium War, One of the most important mods for Command & Conquer has been released: Tiberian Sun. The update is numbered 2.8 and brings a number of new features.
- The last two chapters of the new story campaign, which chronicle the conflict between NOD and GDI, have been added.
- Previous chapters of the campaign have been updated, improving maps and scenes.
- The NOD Brotherhood has acquired a new unit in the form of the Basilisk, a combat vehicle specialized in the fight against flying units.
- Three new multiplayer maps have been added (District 7, Warmer Lake and Chemical city). They are all designed for four players.
- Game balance has been improved and many bugs have been fixed.

Along with the new campaign and additional maps and units, The Second Tiberium War also features a number of gameplay improvements, including expanded veteran mechanics, faster battles, and significantly improved AI. The images have also been changed.
Technically The Second Tiberium War it’s a mod, but in practice it works as a standalone game. In fact, many years ago Electronic Arts released the full version of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun as freeware. Accordingly, mod authors can include all necessary files of this game in their projects without installing it first.
