2019 saw the release of The Outer Worlds from Obsidian, the developers of Fallout: New Vegas who managed to create a new gem available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC ever since. A few years have passed and Obsidian will be bringing their game to the next generation of consoles, as they have just announced the The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition.
The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is an enhanced version of the game coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. This next-gen version of The Outer Worlds will contain all updated released content with visuals improved, as it features graphics with better resolution, a dynamic weather system, better lighting and improved scenarios.
As expected of a current-gen game, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice New Edition will offer better performance than the original release, along with reduced load times, more character detail, and a higher level cap. Additionally, this version of The Outer Worlds includes its two narrative expansions: Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon.
The New Edition of The Outer Worlds is developed by Obsidian and published by Private Division, who have confirmed that the game will be priced at €49.99. Additionally, existing owners of The Outer Worlds Original Edition and its DLC will be able to purchase the next-gen upgrade for $9.99 USD.
During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase held in Summer 2021, it was announced that Obsidian was working on The Outer Worlds 2, so The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition could be the test of the study for test the capabilities of the current generation of consoles. Either way, we’ll soon be able to play what appears to be the definitive version of The Outer Worlds on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
