Over the weekend, the exclusivity for Final Fantasy VII Remake officially ended and the game should no longer be limited to PlayStation platforms.

Square Enix is now technically free to bring the game to other platforms. The question that now arises is what will happen to the game and if it will eventually make it to Xbox consoles.

The stakes are up, with a Square Enix testing the benefits of having Xbox Game Pass alliances , and succeeding with them.

The possibility of the game coming to Xbox, now that the Final Fantasy VII Remake exclusivity is over, seems like a likely gamble going forward.

Microsoft seems to have developed a pretty solid relationship with Square Enix with Outriders and Octopath Traveler already on Xbox Game Pass as notable mentions, so the prospect of Final Fantasy VII Remake heading to the platform isn’t a chimerical dream.

It must be said, even though the Final Fantasy VII Remake exclusivity ended , the game might never make it to Xbox. The same goes for Final Fantasy XVI.

But if we are optimistic and believe that Microsoft’s good relationship with Square Enix will result in the arrival of its game to Xbox, the next question is whether the game will be included in Xbox Game Pass or not.

Most recently, it was part of the March selection of PlayStation Plus games for the month, again indicating that this theory is not too outlandish.

We also have a great selection of other Final Fantasy titles that are slowly making their way onto Xbox Game Pass. It would be a great way to top off the collection by making your debut as a final entry.

We may not hear about any of this until the middle of the year, especially with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade releasing on June 10. Square Enix will want to make sure your full attention is on that. But then there’s E3, which is the following week, and Phil Spencer has announced surprises.
