Players talked about the first major update released for Sons of the Forest. There is no shortage of praise for Endnight Games.
Sons of the Forest Early Access enjoyed great popularity on Steam and despite its many shortcomings, it was met with a very positive reception from gamers. However, there was no shortage of voices of displeasure due to bugs, our partner Kelvin’s poor AI, or other issues that made the game difficult to varying degrees. The first major game update is now available and it turns out that the community is very happy with him.
What did players like?
The SotF update not only fixed a number of bugs, but also introduced additional items and building abilities. Now you can use, among other things, binoculars, which are very useful in watchtowers, or a hang glider, thanks to which you can quickly cover large distances and at the same time have a bird’s eye view. forest view
Those who have more fun building will also appreciate the update. It is worth noting here the changes, thanks to which the doors can be closed with a simple stick, and the empty spaces under the roof of a self-built building can now be easily filled.
The changes also brought some obstacles which gently affect the survival aspect. For example, energy drinks now provide half the hydration and energy, and you can’t sleep all winter long by going to bed several times in a row, because a certain interval between sleep sessions is necessary. The siesta itself can, in turn, be interrupted by an attack from enemies.
An important change is also that Kelvin will no longer cut down trees that player buildings are on.which has been the cause of many memes.
Many praises have been received towards the game developers at Endnight Games. – not only because of the improvements brought by the update, but also because the voice of the players has been heard. This can be clearly seen on Reddit.
“This update far exceeded my expectations,” writes KeepBoopin
“That’s what Endnight Games is all about. They did the same as with the previous early access game and changed what they needed without being afraid to experiment,” says noahsuperman .
“The best fan service I’ve seen in years. They don’t even communicate with us, they just act. I love it,” says HovercraftAromatic.
While we don’t know what changes the next update will bring, when you log into the game the splash screen says it will be rolling out in 13 days and 14 hours (as of today), and therefore at midnight from March 23 to 24.
Finally, remember that early access to Sons of the Forest should last between 6 and 8 months. The full list of changes associated with the latest update can be found here.
