abandoned drops its protagonist, Frey Holland, in the middle of Athia, a world brimming with magic. Before long, players will also have Frey overflowing with his own magic. Spells are the centerpiece and heart of the game’s combat system, and there are dozens of them to earn and use over the course of the game. However, not all of them are completely created equal, and we’ve put together a very quick that covers some of the best spells on abandonedhow to use them and where to find them.
How spells work in abandoned?
In truth, the absolute better spells on abandoned are those related to magic parkour. From Zip, Shimmy, Glide and more, abilities that let you fly into Athia’s face emphasize abandonedThe most distinctive aspects. However, since parkour abilities are essentially essential parts of your toolbox that you’ll use anywhere and everywhere, I’m going to ignore them in favor of combat-related spells and abilities. I will also ignore non-combat related spells, though anyone looking to upgrade their gear should try to get the Diversify, Rarefy, Modify, Invigorate, Amplify and Fortify skills to maximize the effects of crafting and upgrades.
Your combat abilities will mostly depend on your currently active magic color (whether it’s purple, red, blue, or green magic). Each school is independent, and while you can freely switch between them, you cannot use spells from one school while equipping another. Your overall playstyle will also be determined by your choice. attack spell. Each school has a choice of three, in addition to the basic attack. Attack spells are activated by holding down the fire button to charge the spell. For example, Purple Magic’s basic attack shoots a small rock at a target, but if you’re equipped with the Scatter Shot attack spell, charging the trigger will activate Scatter Shot’s unique rapid-fire mechanic.
You also have Support Magic. Support magic spells vary by school and have a variety of effects, from protecting Frey with a rock shield to healing negative status effects to summoning minions. Each support spell has a cooldown, so you’ll have to wait for it to cool down after using it.
Finally, Surge Magic spells are your ultimate attacks and charge up when you use attack and support spells. They inflict heavy damage over large areas, often wiping out entire crowds of enemies.
What are the best spells in abandoned?
Which spell is best for you depends on your situation. Most enemies have some sort of vulnerability or resistance to different types of magic, which will naturally require you to switch things up to avoid reducing damage. Similarly, fighting against, say, hordes of Breakzombies is different from dueling tough mutants, and you’ll want to pick the right spell for the job.
That being said, I often found myself gravitating towards spells that helped me get away from an enemy. abandoned Enemies (mostly) can only hurt you up close, so ranged attacks allow me to stay away from enemies and leave plenty of parkour around their attempts to hurt me. I kept this in mind when writing the guide. This won’t be an exhaustive description of every spell, but rather an overview of favorite picks and combos.
Feel free to also experiment with spells that I don’t mention in the list. abandoned it allows you to freely refund the mana spent to learn a spell, if you want to refocus your build. Try things out and suggest your own favorites in the comments!
The best abandoned purple spells
Purple Magic, also known as Frey’s Magic, is the first school of magic you will earn. An elementary school on the ground, purple spells focus on firing stones at enemies from a distance. Purple spells also protect you directly and heal your poison.
- Best purple attack spell:
- flurry of blows
- The burst shot is sublime. Frey’s ability to blind anyone he points with a massive boulder that grows even larger on contact is an all-around killer. Its only weakness is the fact that its range is quite short: longer than the pointless Shield Shot at the limit, but too short to hit flying enemies or stay completely out of harm’s way. It doesn’t matter though, as the area of the blast and the force of the impact will dispatch most enemies and often knock them back, ready for a follow-up killing blow.
- flurry of blows
- Best Purple Support Spells:
- Spin
- Tendril is a reliable tool in Frey’s arsenal and has an extremely fast cooldown, so you’ll be able to hit him quite often. The spin’s hit radius is quite wide and will often take down anyone who isn’t really heavy or unprotected.
- Disperse
- Forget Cuff, your best friend in Athia is that little flower pal. Disperse spawns a turret that fires a stream of stones at nearby targets. It doesn’t do much damage, but everything helps. It also crushes pesky flying enemies that are beyond the range of your burst fire.
- Major
- Make Frey commit a war crime (of sorts) by planting a land mine that your enemy is likely to step on. If an enemy is approaching, just drop a Prime Cast right at your feet and run around for some good damage and a knockdown if you’re lucky.
- Implant
- The implant will seem a bit flimsy at first, but as its stats increase it will become a reliable workhorse, dealing damage to enemies over time while dodging their attacks.
- Spin
The best abandoned red spells
Obtained from Tanta Sila, Red Magic is all about burning enemies and disarming them at close range. This can be problematic since abandonedSila’s combat isn’t the best when you mix it into melee, but Sila’s spell-set at least offers some compelling options to use when enemies close in. They also look great.
- best red attack spell:
- slice of anger
- The main exception to my general preference for keeping enemies at bay is Rage Slice. Causes Frey to run, dealing a flurry of blows, then hitting an enemy with heat. He also doesn’t require you to clumsily jump to use his best moves, like Arc Slice and Blast Slice.
- slice of anger
- Best Red Support Spells
- Crucible
- It’s a great spell for all situations, trapping enemies in a fiery arena that increases your attack damage. Use it liberally to turn any battlefield into your personal battlefield.
- fire trap
- Another useful spell that places hazards on the ground for enemies to walk through. It also hits larger enemies multiple times.
- To carry
- A fast and powerful attack, Charge is a great way to open up fights or escape a mob.
- download closed
- A protection spell useful if you charge your attack spells (which happens all the time).
- Crucible
The best abandoned blue spells
Tanta Prav’s magic will finally give Frey the power of water and ice and a host of debuff reduction spells that can hamper even bulkier enemies.
- best blue attack spell
- chain bolt
- It’s the real sniper shooting you’ve been waiting for and it’s still awesome. Chain Bolt is a bit tricky to use in a crowd as it only targets one enemy at a time, but it will deal a lot of damage to a distant enemy. Be sure to “stock up” on lightning orbs by using the basic attack multiple times before charging your Chain Lightning to maximize damage.
- chain bolt
- Best blue support spells:
- Alba
- Alb is a critical spell to use in very difficult fights, such as against bosses and mutants. It will protect you from a single unlockable or piercing attack. This means you’ll get a free evade card to use against a powerful enemy’s worst hit.
- Eagle
- Eagre is a great defensive spell that gives you a break as its barrier also knocks back enemies.
- born
- A poison spell, Naedre does even more damage than Implant, though this can vary depending on an enemy’s elemental weaknesses.
- up and away
- More than just a transition spell, Up and Away propels you through the air and replenishes your supply of projectiles.
- Alba
The best abandoned green spells
Tanta Olas brings lightning, which will give Frey the power of the storm. Green magic can be used against enemy mobs even more aggressively than red magic, thanks to the ability of the basic “sting” attack to “mark” enemies for damage from other spells.
- best green attack spell
- seeker dart
- Green attack spells are fairly well balanced, but Seeker Dart has an added convenience factor, as the beam will charge between any marks you’ve placed on enemies with your darts beforehand. A great spell anywhere you’re up against more than one enemy (which is most of the time).
- seeker dart
- Best Green Support Spells:
- Projection
- The projection is as simple as it gets: it shoots out a huge lightning bolt that electrifies anything along and around its path. Ideal when enemies are grouped together.
- Assault
- Aggression is a great support spell to slot in between your regular attacks and other spells, as the fan-shaped bolts will mark any enemies they hit, readying them to take a seeker dart.
- Compensation
- You should have Compensation as much as you can, as it speeds up your Surge Magic cooldown rate when dodging attacks using parkour. It’s a core mechanic, and it’s great to be consistently rewarded for it.
- Shift
- The dash drops a double of Frey that distracts nearby enemies, a useful tactic if you’re under pressure or want space to switch positions.
- Projection
