Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake has reportedly been leaked ahead of its release date. As noted by a well-known Capcom enthusiast and Twitter user TwilightGolemthe game is now “100% in the wild” and people are already playing it.
If you are worried that the whole experience will be revealed prematurely (even if it’s a remake), you might want to be careful with social media and video websites like YouTube.
Twilight Golem via Twitter: “Just a warning, Resident Evil 4 Remake is 100% wild, I’ve seen clips that people have notified me in some places. I won’t share them, but if you want to avoid spoilers, now is the time to start walking carefully.”
While I’m sure Capcom will start cleaning things up soon, my suggestion going forward is to be careful on social media and video sharing sites. Some with automatic recommendations, like Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc., may be the ones to watch out for the most, but these are ways to block terms: AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) March 10, 2023
In a follow-up tweet, Dusk Golem claims that Capcom hid “a lot” of the RE4 remake before its release, so there are still potential gameplay spoilers:
They hide many surprises. If you’ve only seen marketing, there’s a lot you don’t know. The marketing did a good job of getting people excited without spoiling too much.”
Also reporting that retailers are past the release date for the new version, our colleagues at Push Square mention how the spoilers extend to “character designs, encounters and much, much more.” So again, if you want to enjoy this experience again, make sure to be careful while browsing online.
This development follows Capcom’s Spotlight showcase earlier this week, as well as the company’s release of a Resident Evil 4 Remake demo. We’ve already gotten to work with this little part of the game and it certainly intrigued us.
Resident Evil 4 Remake launches later this month on March 24. Have you tried the demo yet? Did you play the original game back then? Comments below.
