Super Mario Bros. 35

The video game Super Mario Bros. 35 is a battle royale game only available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. It lets 35 players compete against each other in a competitive Super Mario Bros., with each downed opponent appearing on the opponent’s screen.

Super Mario Bros. 35 works in a similar way to Tetris 99. The player can select different enemy types with the right stick and thus attack opponents who use certain tactics.

35th anniversary

For the 35th anniversary of the “Super Mario Bros.” Series in 2021, Nintendo has chosen an unusual way to celebrate the occasion. The very first World Count Challenge in Super Mario Bros. 35 is live, giving players a week to defeat 3.5 million Bowsers. The event has started and will run until January 26th.

This event can be found in the mode “Special Combat”, in which all players have 100 coins and 200 seconds. The courses that appear in this mode are 1-1, 1-4, 2-1, 2-4, 3-1, 3-4, 4-1, 5-1, 5-4, 6-4, and 8-1. All participating players who defeat at least one Bowser will receive 350 platinum points in their My Nintendo account. These can be spent on real items, such as an invitation letter from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Challenge

It’s not the first time Nintendo Switch gamers have had to team up to defeat many enemies. Pokémon Sword & Shield players had to complete a million Shiny Zeraora Max Raids to win one.

The Bowser Challenge requires a lot more victories, but it doesn’t require group collaboration to defeat a powerful Pokémon, so it should be easier to complete.

The fact that the special battle gives the player 100 coins makes the Bowser challenge easier as the player can spam the X button’s item box to get through the stages until they get a chance against the king of the Koopas.
