Square Enix released a new final fantasy 16 game video via official Japanese Twitter account featuring Torgal. Torgal is a wolf that Clive and his brother Joshua adopted as children. He is Clive’s faithful companion and can hold his own in battle, proving to be a useful ally who can attack, extend combos, throw enemies, or even heal Clive.

Torgal is a special member of the AI group named “Buddy”. He acts differently than other party members Clive will encounter, as he can receive fixed commands. These commands are Sic, Heal and Ravage. Torgal will attack by biting the enemy when cut. Meanwhile, using Ravage can lead to a caster for an extended air combo.
By combining these commands with Clive’s abilities, special combinations can be activated. As seen in the video, Clive casts a Fira spell and then immediately uses the Sic command. This causes Torgal to dash forward and perform a spinning aerial attack. After Clive continues to throw the enemy to the ground, he commands Torgal to devastate, prompting him to perform a finishing combo and eliminate the enemy.
