Several video game industry veterans join Sony Interactive Entertainment’s mobile team.

Almost a year after announcing plans to extend PlayStation licensing to mobile, Sony Interactive Entertainment created a team dedicated to games for smartphones by appointing Nicola Sebastiani, former head of content for the Apple Arcade subscription and head of commercial management of games for the App Store, as its head. The latter brought back Kris Davis, ex-director of business development at Kabam, Olivier Courtemanche, ex-head of mobile product at Disney and Zynga, as well as producers Chris Spencer (EA Chillingo) and Elizabeth Dumbrique (Glu Mobile).

PlayStation just hired Kabam exec Kris Davis as it continues to build its mobile superteam – details here, plus news of several other recent hires: https://t.co/YKvBGZv4pj

“Mobile is just one of the areas we are exploring to reach millions of gamers beyond our platforms. PlayStation has a huge catalog of diverse intellectual properties that can be adapted into mobile games and complement our AAA games and game services“said Jim Ryan in May 2021 during a strategy meeting.

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s mobile team will grow in the coming months

These aren’t the last hires Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to make as part of building its mobile team. The Japanese publisher is currently recruiting a mobile QA project manager in its Liverpool office and offers several mobile engineer and programmer positions in San Diego and San Francisco.
