Last September, Ubisoft revealed the future of Assassin’s Creed, which included a bunch of new titles like Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red, which finally brought the series to feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade, which will be a mobile title, and Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, which will focus on witch trials in 16th-century Europe.
In addition to these games, there are a few other titles in the works, but according to Insider Gaming, that might not be all Ubisoft has planned for Assassin’s Creed. There could be up to four more Assassin’s Creed games, which are said to be in concept and prototype stages.
We don’t have names for these games, nor many details about them. With AAA titles taking 5-6 years to complete these days, we shouldn’t expect more news on these games for some time.
It’s interesting to see Ubisoft getting into Assassin’s Creed, but it’s also not unexpected. We already reported even a year ago that Ubisoft was canceling some projects to focus on its hit franchises (just look at the good numbers for The Crew series). There are few Ubisoft IPs that come close to Assassin’s Creed sales numbers, so it’s no wonder there are so many games in the series in the works.
What kind of Assassin’s Creed game are you most looking forward to seeing in the future?
