For some reason, Riot Games can’t figure out how to bring competitive League of Legends to North American fans. The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) is still under fire from fans, players, analysts, and more, and despite a recent overhaul, a new rumor suggests the LCS will be revamped again in 2024.
As analyst MonteCristo mentioned on the Summoning Insight podcast (thanks, Dexerto), it was mentioned that the LCS will move to something more similar to what the EMEA Championship did for the 2023 season.
This will mean more games and additional tournaments, but shorter sets throughout the year, and if that ends up happening, I would also suggest that Riot Games considers the LEC format overhaul a success as well.
Riot has yet to make an official announcement on this, so for now we’ll just have to wait and see if it comes to fruition.
