If you’ve ever played CSGO or Valorant, its Riot Games competitor, or even watched a few minutes of competitive play, you’ll know how important controlling sightlines can be. As such, nailing those perfect CSGO smokes is hugely important, and top players have used a clever workaround to ensure they hit them every time, but now Valve might be about to make it more accessible to everyone.
The CSGO jumpthrow link is a minor script used by gamers that allows you to do exactly what it says on the box: it assigns jumping and throwing to a single button press, which means you can press one touch to perform both actions perfectly in one go. . This is important because getting the timing right is key to landing certain smoke queues. It’s such a popular tool that Valve even legalized the use of skipped links in tournaments in 2019.
It’s a bit inconvenient for casual gamers, even if you know it exists, you have to copy a code into the game console every time you load the game and add the custom hotkey of your choice. This alias combines the two actions into a single button, but you cannot save it between sessions. However, players have colored an option added to the Source 2 code in Dota 2 called ‘in_jump_throw_release’ that suggests we might be on the verge of getting a native in-game jump throw hook to make life easier for everyone.
