Rumor: Gears of War is preparing its return through the front door

In 2023, four years will have passed since the last game in the Gears of War franchise was released. Although it was well received by critics, many fans yearn for the third-person shooter franchise.

If you’re also one of those who expect more from Gears of War, you might be in luck today because a new job posting for a Senior Gameplay Designer at The Coalition specifically references the franchise and asks that the right candidate be ready to help “shape the future” of Gears of War.

We don’t know what that future will look like, if The Coalition is aiming for Gears 6 or if instead they’re looking at the popularity of games like the Dead Space remake and wanting to take a slice of the pie. Either way, the return of Gears of War is something fans will surely be excited to see.

We previously learned that a Gears of War veteran could return to work on the franchise, which only adds fuel to the fire.
