The Ronin Network, the sidechain built by Sky Mavis, the team behind Axie Infinity, is launching a staking program for its native token, RON, and also announcing various development partners, bringing new games to the network!
Ronin isn’t just for Axies anymore. Sky Mavis announces partnerships with various studios to develop games on its network. Additionally, RON token holders can now stake their tokens and start earning rewards soon!
RON staking is now available on the official staking page. Users choose a validator and stake their tokens to earn rewards. Since validators and participants are still being set up, rewards won’t start until April 12.
This announcement also included notices of several new partner projects to be built on the Ronin Network. Interestingly, one of the first non-Axie projects on the Ronin Network will be The Machines Arena, a top-down multiplayer FPS created by the Civitas team.
What is Machine Arena?
The Machines Arena is a fast-paced, action-packed MOBA game that pits two teams of four players against each other in a variety of game modes. Wielding weapons such as pistols, lasers, and flamethrowers, players battle in matches that usually last 5 to 10 minutes. The game looks good and plays smoothly.

The game is still in development and marked as early access on Steam. And although it’s officially in “closed beta”, to play all you need to do is click the request access button on your Steam games page. In general, the initial response to the game was positive.
The game takes up around 20 GB of hard drive space and requires Windows 10 or later operating system. Players can find the game on the Steam store web link (or by searching for it in the Steam client). The team plans to release it on Epic Games, as well as adding mobile versions for Android and iOS.
The Machines Arena wasn’t originally planned to be a blockchain game, but since its first beta, they’ve expanded the game. And their new partnership with Sky Mavis allows them to introduce cashable digital collectibles to the channel. Ronin.

The Ronin Network has been around for a while, but not much seemed to be going on, while other channels like Gala Games and Immutable X got ahead. This all changes now with the introduction of the RON participation system and the announcement of new partnerships.
The Machines Arena isn’t the only title announced for the Ronin Network. These include Tribesters, a social MMO, Axie Champions, a match-three game, Battle Bears Heroes, a MOBA, and Bowled, a blockchain-based cricket game!
