Sega did not specify the exact reason for the closure of Re: Zero lost in memoriesbut said he made the decision to end the service after concluding that “it would be difficult to provide satisfactory service to customers in the future”.
As of February 28, 2023, all purchases of the premium currency have been suspended. On the same day as the game shutdown on May 12, 2023, Sega will begin accepting refunds.
Additional gameplay changes will make things a little easier for current players. Character spawn rates, free currency, and progression materials will be increased. New events and replays of old events, along with login bonuses and other promotions, will run from March until the end of the service.
Re: Zero lost in memories is based on Re:Zero – Starting life in another world, the light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki. The story follows Subaru Natsuki, a locked-down NEET who is suddenly summoned to a fantasy world. He is killed almost immediately upon arrival and comes back to life some time later, discovering he has the ability to go back in time after his death. He uses his ability to change the weather to help himself and others. The series has been adapted into several manga and anime, as well as video games.
Re: Zero lost in memories is available on iOS and Android devices in Japan and select regions. It will close the service on May 12, 2023.
