As you know, we have spent countless hours with the new Resident Evil 4 Remake on Xbox Series X all month, but the Xbox Series S version is something we’ve just started looking at.
This week, we thought of doing a small comparison of the two versions, and the results are quite interesting! It’s pretty much what you’d expect on Xbox Series X, with the resolution mode proving more visually impressive than the frame rate mode (but not by much). Also a lot), but the Series S version is all over the place.
Basically there are apparent texture issues in resolution mode on Xbox Series S which means the frame rate mode ends up looking like better in certain circumstances. You can see some examples in the video.
In terms of performance, Digital Foundry measured that the Xbox Series X version runs at around 40-45FPS in resolution mode and 60FPS with drops in performance mode, while the Series S reaches around 30FPS in resolution mode and 50-60FPS in frame rate. pictures. fashion. In our testing, we definitely noticed the Series S struggled with the latter option.
