A Twitch blooper revealed that Capcom was planning (or planning until it happened) for a surprise drop. Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo later today. The official announcement will be made during the Capcom Showcase.

What platforms will the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo be released on?

The blooper in question is a Twitch ad posted yesterday and then quickly deleted. However, internet sleuths were quick to take screenshots. Several users confirmed seeing the ad, which was later corroborated by the notorious Dusk Golem.

According to screenshots circulating online, the demo will not be a timed exclusive, as has been the case with some recent releases. This means it will be available on PS4 and PS5 as well as other platforms.

What we don’t know is if it will be a limited-time demo and what that will entail, but I guess we’ll find out later today.

The Capcom showcase is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PST / 5:00 p.m. EST / 10:00 p.m. GMT.

In a related but not-so-great news, US retailer GameStop has canceled pre-orders for Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Editions. It was initially reported that only in-store orders were canceled, but PlayStation LifeStyle later received confirmation that online orders were also affected.

No official statement has been made on this yet.
