The successes are linked to Resident Evil, which has definitely established itself as a golden goose for Capcom. For several years, the franchise has continued to rise to new heights, posting particularly strong sales scores with each new entry. And the trend is still confirmed today with the remake of Resident Evil 4 which, as the publisher has just announced, has sold more than 3 million copies in just two days. A near record for the saga.
Starting fanfare for Resident Evil 4
Indeed, with such figures, Resident Evil 4 is the second best-selling episode of the series., just behind Resident Evil 6 and its 4.5 million copies sold in 2012. For comparison, the remake of Resident Evil 2 took three days to reach the 3 million mark, and Resident Evil Village took four days to reach the same bar. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the remake of Resident Evil 3 had respectively crossed the 2.5 million mark in four days for the first and the 2 million mark in five days for the second.
In short, both say that Business is going very well for Capcom, which has definitely won over players and is accelerating with this remake.. And things are still far from over since the studio is currently working on the arrival of the Mercenaries mode, scheduled for next month, as well as on the VR version of the game which will be released on an as yet unknown date. Besides, more and more clues seem to indicate that a dedicated extension to Separate Ways, Ada Wong’s bonus campaign, is also in the works.. But this remains to be confirmed.
As a reminder, Resident Evil 4 is now available en PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
