Red Dead Redemption

The original Red Dead Redemption is often hailed as a masterpiece of the open world genre. At the time of its release, the game garnered critical acclaim for its authentic Wild West feel and compelling story.

At the time of writing, the original Red Dead Redemption is officially only available on PS3 and Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version is also playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles thanks to backwards compatibility.

Remake

Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has not been stingy with its intention to produce more video game remakes and remasters for years to come.

If the rumors are to be believed, the original Red Dead Redemption is also part of these talks. According to unconfirmed reports, a full Red Dead Redemption remake or remaster could well be in the works. At the time of writing this article, however, nothing had been announced.

Unreal Engine 5

As fans await more information on the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption remake, they can already get a glimpse of what it could look like if it ever happens in a video by YouTuber ENFANT TERRIBLE.

The video uses footage from various Unreal Engine 5 projects to create a concept trailer for the Red Dead Redemption Remake. It looks incredibly impressive and proves that a Red Dead Redemption Remake on modern consoles would have the potential to offer some truly stunning visuals. Of course, it would be unlikely that Rockstar Games would use exactly this graphics engine for a remake of Red Dead Redemption. Still, it’s a visual treat!

The Unreal Engine 5 and its capabilities have been in the spotlight a lot lately, with many upcoming games using the engine. However, it may be some time before Unreal Engine 5 becomes the norm for new game releases. In the meantime, creators have made their own Unreal Engine 5 concept videos showing what games like Need for Speed would look like with Unreal Engine 5, and made their own demos.
