Nintendo

Throughout this year’s E-3, Nintendo has largely been conspicuously quiet. While there have been a few updates to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the past few weeks, it’s been quite a while since Nintendo has held a full-scale Nintendo Direct.

However, rumors have been circulating for quite some time that a Nintendo Direct would take place later this month. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but insiders believe the presentation will focus on third-party games. Recent rumors suggest that Red Dead Redemption 2 could finally make its debut on the Nintendo Switch.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Earlier this week, during a live stream (which you can watch below), industry insider and journalist Nacho Requena hinted that Nintendo will be showing off a ported game that’s already four years old at the rumored third-party reveal. Requena said somewhat cryptically: “I was also told that there will be another game that has been available on other platforms for a while… it’s been out for four years now.“

This is information that applies to Red Dead Redemption 2. In a few months, Red Dead Redemption 2 will celebrate its 4th birthday. It’s also not the first time there have been rumors of a Switch port of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Reportedly, journalist Stephen Totilo previously revealed that he assumed a Switch port of Red Dead Redemption 2 was in the works alongside development of Grand Theft Auto: The Definitive Trilogy. At the time, the Definitive Trilogy hadn’t been announced, so Totilo must have had credible sources.

Nevertheless, of course, this “leak” should be treated with caution and only be taken seriously once Nintendo has made an official announcement.
