Sony is in the midst of developing new models of headphones and wireless headphones for the PS5. Called Project Nomad and Voyager, the two devices should see the light of day between April 2023 and March 2024.
Insider Gaming sources revealed that Sony is in the middle of manufacturing new headphones and Bluetooth earphones for PlayStation 5. Both formats are expected to be available by the end of fiscal year 2023 (April 2023 – March 2024).
Sony headphones as good as AirPods
The helmet, called nomadic project, it must have an autonomy of about 5H. Which is about the same as the battery life of the AirPods. However, they will remain less efficient than the Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones and their planned 6H. Of course, just like the headphones on sale in the market, the Nomads will be sold with a case to recharge them and a USB-C cable. Additionally, the same connection method will be used for wireless headset upgrades on the PS5.
In addition to headphones, sources shared that the company is developing a wireless headset for the PS5 called Voyager. He should released at the same time as Nomad. He should have same performance as the very good Inzone H7 but its price has not yet been announced.
Although sources have not confirmed this, what makes the release dates for both products particularly interesting is the proposed release date. Sony is in full development of a new PS5 with a removable disk drivescheduled for launch in September 2023. If both planned release dates are met, it could suggest that Sony is considering a serious revival of the console.
