While an Australian retailer recently mentioned the existence of a PS5 Slim on its website, the news shows that it is more of a “placeholder” than real information.

A PS5 Slim spotted at an Australian retailer…
but beware, there is a trap!
-
The good ones
A few hours ago, a page mentioning the existence of a PS5 Slim was spotted on the retailer’s site.
-
A rumor quickly denied
However, we must be careful because Internet users quickly denounced a hoax.
-
A description inspired by the PS4 Slim
It turns out that the description used for the console verbatim the one used for the PS4 Slim several years ago.
-
A “placeholder”
So much so that it looks more like some kind of dealer “placeholder” than actual information.
-
A PS5 Pro in sight?
Also, according to journalist Tom Henderson, there would not be a PS5 Slim but a PS5 Pro in preparation, by the end of 2024 at the earliest.
Available for more than two years, the PS5 will have had a start that could not be more solid despite the very particular context in which it came out. And although inventory problems now seem to be a thing of the past, many rumors are starting to emerge about the possibility that Sony could offer new models of your console in the months and years to come. Recently, Australian retailer The Good Guys, for example, revealed the existence of an as yet unannounced PS5 Slim. But there is a catch…
Is a PS5 Slim coming? Probably not…
It turns out that this information is simply wrong. As some netizens have noted (via WCcf Tech), the page in question, which mentions a PS5 ” thinner “ with a ” New style “in fact repeats verbatim the description that this same retailer had proposed for the PS4 Slim few years ago. More important again, this famous page dedicated to the PS5 Slim would already exist since 2021which therefore looks more like a kind of “placeholder” on the part of The Good Guys than anything else.
(UPDATE) Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the PS5 Slim is happening as the news feed has been around since 2021.
This was originally written for the PS4 Slim and they just changed the 4 to 5. Note the dates in the top right.

In other words, there is currently no reason to give credence to this rumor From nowhere. What’s more, according to the latest news, it wouldn’t even be a Slim version of the console, but aa Pro version, at least if we are to believe the information shared by Tom Henderson on Insider Gaming. The source couldn’t be more industry credible, then hinted at a potential release in late 2024, which is far from immediate. In short, as much to say that in the state, we are not more advanced on this file.
