Currently there is little official information about the upcoming multiplayer shooter Battlefield 6. But if you believe the rumors on Reddit, the new title will unite everyone else.
Where does the information come from: The Reddit user bf6leaker is not a well-known insider who would have been noticed before. In his thread, he also does not provide any visible evidence suggesting a connection to DICE. However, a moderator has confirmed that bf6leaker was able to provide him with evidence of a direct connection to the developers. However, they were not shared because they contain sensitive information that would reveal the identity of the insider.
That makes the leak a little more believable. However, you should not completely rely on it, since the moderator can only confirm the connection to DICE. However, not whether the exact information really comes from there.
Does Battlefield 6 bring all parts together in one hub?
The leaker speaks of a serious change in gameplay. He himself describes it as “the biggest news that there is so far,” because Battlefield 6 will be the hub of all previously published parts.
Players should be able to start their own servers with special settings. A server can be started with the settings from Battlefield 1942, which only contain the vehicles and weapons from the first Battlefield title.
- Battlefield 1942 vs. Battlefield 3? According to the leaked information, players will also be able to mix the settings. This would allow a team with weapons and vehicles from Battfield 1942 and the opposing team with tanks from Battlefield 3 to enter the battlefield.
- The question of balancing: At first glance, this scenario seems extremely unrealistic, as the vehicles and weapons from Battlefield 3 would be far superior to those from 1942. The feel of older Battlefield parts should also be reproducible. For example, one couldn’t lie down with the Bad Company attitude anymore. Even the insider does not know how DICE should master this possible balance challenge.
- Can it all work? According to an initial assessment, this idea sounds quite ambitious, as balancing would be extremely complex in this case. It is therefore rather unlikely that the leaked information will be adopted 1: 1 and appear in Battlefield 6 that way.
More destructible environment
In his thread on Reddit, bf6leaker not only announced the unification of all Battlefield parts, according to him, the environment will also be destructible again. As a comparison, he cites Bad Company and describes the destruction as rather smaller.
However, significantly more structures were destructible at Bad Company than in later parts. The insider seems to mean that there will be less extensive scripted map destruction, as with the Levolution of Battlefield 4 and again more chaos actively caused by players.
What speaks for it: Tom Henderson, a well-known leaker who was right with a few leaks in the past, has already commented on the level destruction in Battlefield 6 and claims that the level destruction will be much more extreme than in Battlefield 4.
What other leaks are there? In addition to the destructible environment, there should also be a battle royale mode. Furthermore, 128 players are to be supported, which would confirm previous rumors. In his leak, bf6leaker says that with Wake Island, Metro and Locker three well-known maps are returning in Battlefield 6.
