Niantic has prepared a number of events in Pokémon Go for April 2021. In a recent blog entry, the developers give an outlook on the coming month and promise that April will be a month full of special Pokémon and bonuses. This month Giovanni has Crypto-Zapdos under his control.
Complete the current Team GO Rocket Flying High to earn a Super Rocket Radar. You use it to track down the boss of Team GO Rocket and save Crypto-Zapdos. In the first week of April you can get another Super Rocket Radar as a reward from the Temporary Research.
In addition, you will meet male Quabbel from April 1 to May 1 after a research breakthrough in Pokémon Go. Check out the raids too, because there are new monsters lurking there at level 5 and in the mega raids.
From Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. to Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10 a.m., Boreos will appear in Pokémon Go for the first time in animal spirit form. Between April 13th and 27th you will meet Demeteros in the animal spirit form.
From April 27th, Boreos, Voltolos and Demeteros will appear again in the incarnation form in level 5 raid battles.
There is also a lot going on in the mega raids in April 2021. Mega Hundemon, Mega Voltenso and Mega Rexblisar appear in the Mega Raids until April 4th. After that, according to Niantic, a new mega-Pokémon appears. However, the developers do not want to provide specific details on this until later.
Between April 5th and 20th you will meet Mega-Gengar and Mega-Voltenso in the Mega-Raids. From April 20, Mega-Bisaflor and Mega-Rexblisar will appear. In April, the raid hour takes place every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., during which the current Legendary Pokémon appear more frequently in level 5 raid battles.
The spotlight hour takes place in April every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 6, 2021: Haspiror is in the spotlight and you’ll get twice as many candies for sending Pokémon.
- Tuesday, April 13, 2021: Menki is in the spotlight and you will receive twice as many XP for developing Pokémon.
- Tuesday, April 20, 2021: Sleima is in the spotlight and you’ll get twice as much stardust for catching Pokémon.
- Tuesday, April 27, 2021: Finneon is in the spotlight and you’ll earn twice as much XP for catching Pokémon.
Niantic had already confirmed details about Community Day in April: On April 11, 2021, the focus will be on the monster Serpifeu from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Develop Efoserp (the further development of Serpifeu) during the event or for up to two hours afterwards so that your Serpiroyal learns the Flora Statue attack.
New events in April
- Team GO Rocket Temporary Research: April 1-8 – Complete Temporary Research to receive a Super Rocket Radar that you can use to track down and fight Giovanni.
- Hop into spring: April 4th to 8th, 2021. Monsters like Chaneira, Heiteira and Wonneira with a wreath of flowers appear + surprises for Easter.
- Rival Week: April 13-18, 2021. It’s all about rival Pokémon – some of which are appearing for the first time in Pokémon Go.
- Sustainability Week: April 20-25, 2021. During the event, Pokémon such as Sleima and Unratütox appear in the wild.
- Friendship Day: Takes place on Saturday, April 24th, 2021. Details following.
In addition, April should end with a “special event” that will last until May. Further details should follow in April. Also stop by the shop every Monday to get a free box that includes a remote raid pass as well as other items.
