February’s Most Interesting Classic RPG

Octopath Traveler II is an evolution of the concept familiar to fans of the first installment. You’ll begin your adventure by choosing one of eight distinct characters: merchant, warrior, scholar, thief, cleric, dancer, hunter, or apothecary. Each of them has a unique motivation, a social status that affects the plot, as well as a set of assigned skills with the possibility of improving them.

Traveling through the steampunk country of Soloista during the period of development of the steam engine (Victorian era), we will meet other characters, with whom we can explore the world and perform various tasks. The heart of the game remains the turn-based combat, an element familiar to fans of the first game and Japanese RPGs in general. A novelty, however, is the indicator of the so-called latent power, after filling it we get a powerful special ability.. The title was kept in the HD-2D style (combining 16-bit sprites and a three-dimensional environment).

The game will launch today on PC on Steam, PS4 and PS5 (PS Store), and Switch (Nintendo Store) consoles. Regardless of the platform, the title is priced at $59.99
